Particularly Poignant Purples For Pleasing Purse Purchases

For whatever reason we feel the urge to be alliterative. We think this may come from sheer laziness or perhaps a perceived need for content but the idea of consonance is so appealing. As we learned today the relative formal accessibility of alliteration makes it one of the most commonly used literally tools in English, tracing its origins back to Old English and other Germanic languages.

Alliterative verse in which the poetry relies heavily on consonance and assonance rather than rhyme was used most notably in the epic Beowolf. And while we rather disliked the new animated 3D version with Angelina Jolie as Grendel's mother we still like the alliterative poetry of these particularly purple purses They really POP from the page as you might say.

Budget Bag Blog: Spiegel Pleated Suede Bag

An affordable suede bag in an eye popping color? And its only $59? No we aren't joking. We are talking about this Spiegel Pleated Suede Bag in Purple. The gold and purple make it a dressy bag for going out but it can easily combine with a cozy weekend sweater like this oversize V-neck we suggested on Almost Dressed. Or dress it up and make it super stylish budget look with these Spiegel Suede Colorblock pumps we suggested on Almost Heeled.

Sonia Rykiel Purple Bag

Find it curious that a bag with such a dark brooding shade of rich plum comes complete with a quirky little heart coin purse. But Sonia Rykiel's Purple Bag, her supposed "it" bag for fall goes for both deep and cute at the same time.

But its spacious, basic, and has a very alluring color so different from the otherwise saturated bright hues so trendy this season.

Dior Samourai 1947 Woven Frame Bag

We love chopsocky films. But we also love Akira Kurosawa. That contradiction of high vs low is we feel when looking at the Dior Samourai 1947 Woven Frame Bag. The bag is a tiny bit kitschy with its bad weave (not at all like the classic intrecciato of Bottega Veneta) but its a bit genius thanks to its tortoiseshell frame top with rings and serpents.

To prevent ourselves from singing Kung Fu Fighting we have to remember the lesson of the classic Kurosawa film Rashomon. That is to say different perspectives produce different outcomes and perhaps for one woman it is a chopsocky sort of bag and for another more like the artistry of a Kurosawa film. All we can say though is that you might want to move fast on this one as the cats who like this sort of bag are apt to move as fast as lighting to get it and that can be a bit frightening. So use your expert timing!
