Ugg Shearling Backpack

Ugg Shearling Backpack Hannah Arendt famously used the phrase "the banality of evil" in her description of Nazi genocide in World War Two. Most of us have come to associate this phrase with platitudes like "at least the fascists made the trains run on time." However, "banal" was not meant to position these actions as workaday.

Rather it is meant to contest the prevalent depictions of the Nazi's inexplicable atrocities as having emanated from a malevolent will to do evil, a delight in murder. As far as Arendt could discern, Eichmann came to his willing involvement with the program of genocide through a failure or absence of the faculties of sound thinking and judgment.

We feel like this distinction may be critical to understanding the sheer banality of this Ugg Shearling Backpack available at Victoria's Secret. It isn't evil or even a terrible idea. It simply came about through a lack of sound thinking. And the fact that it continues to be purchased compounds that lack of judgment.

Bamford Mink Small Tote

While we have taken issue with mink bags in the past we think that this Bamford Mink Small Tote might be an exception to the rule that all fur bags must be silly, ostentatious or otherwise unappealing. Simple in design, almost elegant in execution, this mink tote is something a very classy old lady could get away with.

Though we imagine that some very ambitious Russian Oil Wife blondes might be the more likely owners of the bag. But its nice to know that even the worst bag ideas can be reinterpreted into something worthwhile with the right owners.

Marc Jacobs Monica Mink and Python Clutch

We have nothing against fur per say as we own a few vintage coats ourselves. But we have never been able to figure out why people buy furry bags. It looks like you are carrying around a tribble (you know, those cute alien animals from Star Trek?)

Picture_2 The Marc Jacobs Monica Mink and Python Clutch is distinctly evocative ofSttroubletrib the little alien. With strips of mink and python pieced together we admit to wondering what the allure could possibly be to own this sort of bag. Sure it is made of luxurious materials but it doesn't keep you warm. Perhaps that is the true definition of luxury and we are simply too pedantic or bourgeois to really understand.
